Batik overload

Our poor courier lady when she had to carry this box into the shop the other day, it contained 48 NEW batik fabrics!! We are so excited. We have been waiting for these for a while now, as they were delayed due to bad weather, (they are made outside in the islands and couldn’t dry) but they are finally here! It’s such a pleasure picking all the fabrics out of the box and drooling all over them,( not literally because that would be discussing). So our already full batik shelves are now OVERFLOWING!!

Cuddle quilt kits now available!!!

We have been very busy kiting up this beautiful fabric into these snugly quilts, so here they are!

The first one (Blue photo) is just a little cot sized quilt. The size measures at 35″ x 44″. This is a very simple and quick design and looks very impressive. We have made kits up in the colour way in the photo ( blues and purples) and also in a pink version (colours similar to the second photo).

The kits for this quilt include the fabric to make the top of this quilt. Cost = $58.00

The second one (Pink photo) is a strip pieced quilt and is a very easy technique which is quilting it also at the same time as you piece it. This quilt measures at 41″ x 60″.  We have only made the kits sets up in this one colour way as of now, however we will be making up different colour ways very soon.

The kit for this is also all the fabrics to make the top of this quilt. Cost = $65.00

We have used flannel on the back of both of these so it makes then extra warm and snugly.

All of the kits include a free instruction sheet.

Big Congratulations!!

At the recent Waikato Patchworkers Calling all Quilts exhibition, Donna’s Quilt Studio’s students did extremely well. All students that entered won prizes, Including Lynne Rowe (Pictured with her winning challenge entry). Congratulation also to Mary Avidson, Meryl Caudwell, Joan Waterson (Withers) and of course Lynne Rowe.

CUDDLE CUDDLE CUDDLE

We are totally in love with this new fabric we have just got in! It is called cuddle fabric and well…the name says it all. It comes in lots of different colours and textures, we have got 20 bolts of it in and are waiting for more!!! It is extra wide, 160cm wide, so would be super snuggly for the back of quilts. We have it cut into fat quarters aswell. We have been frantic all weekend making up samples in it, including quilts,clothes and our Kitty pattern.
