School Holidays are always very busy for us, we always think that’s it’s going to be quiet because we have no classes on and we will have all this time to sew…well that just turns into a joke. However its all good fun!
Yesterday we had the last children’s class for these school holidays and they all made a pillow. They all did really well and went home the it finished. It was pieced on the front, and appliqued a picture they drew themselves on to the back. Some of the girls even got to quilt the pillow. It was a very busy day having 10 girls in the class all wanting our help at the same time. They were all very patient with us and the finished products look fantastic!!
Still coming in is lots of fabric I wish I could put it all on here for you all to see but I just don’t have the time so here are some things that I really think are fantastic. This is such a genius fabric, it’s like they made it especially for us as it is all the colours we use in our new pacific Gems of the Pacific. It ranges in colour from darker rich brown into teal. How perfect! It is $28.00 and we are only selling it off the bolt as fat quarters wouldn’t really work.
Thanks to the people who make our Kiwiana fabrics, they have made it easy for everyone to personalize the back of our quilts with a little bit of N.Z. We have got a panel of quilt labels all with different touches of Kiwiana. They are $4.90 for the 9 little labels.

We have just had our 1st kids class for these school holidays and they made a little wheat frog! They all did so well. Some of them had never even sewn on a sewing machine before and one of the boys even said he didn’t know what a sewing machine looked like. They all went home with a finished frog that they all had sewn themselves and stuffed with wheat.
As you can tell by the photos they all went home VERY happy with their new little froggy friend.
